Homeschool Update!

School has been so difficult this year. With everything that has been going on in life we have fought to stay on target. I have really aimed for at least 3 days a week with Mr. Popper. I have found that the internet is my best friend on the really hard days. abcya.com is an awesome website. He is able to work on several different subjects. It is a special treat for him so he doesn't realize that he is 'doing school!'

Here he is playing a penguin (of course) math game. He did great! I love that he is getting the extra practice and having fun at the same time.

We are awaiting our little passports (here) delivery!  We are going to be adding geography to our lesson plans as soon as that comes in.
Also, he has become very interested in learning Spanish. One of my best friends, Amanda from over at Radiant Baby Crafter, is helping me out with that! She is amazing!

Brother Bear hasn't really been interested in school until the last couple of weeks. I pulled out our Hooked on Phonics. I am going to start him on that tomorrow. He loves working with pattern blocks and lacing.

Our read aloud time has become my all time favorite! Like I mentioned earlier, we have started reading The Magic Tree House series! I have never seen my children sit still so well, EVER!!! They love it!

That is our update! How about you? Any changes in your routine?

  1. Hi, Michelle! It has been a while since I stopped by....so happy to know that you are all well and enjoying school. It can such a challenge some days, but it is so worth it to hang in there and home school. My son loves the Magic Tree House books, too! We used to get the CDs at Wendy's in his kid's meals, and he loved listening to them. He still does, actually. He is 13, and they still interest him. God bless you and your sweet family. Love, Cheryl
