Answered Prayers

About a week ago my husband and I were at our wits end! We were on a job search for him and had been for almost 3 months. We were exasperated to say the least.  He had filled out over 100 applications and I had e-mailed as many resumes. One night during my Bible reading, God lead me to Psalm 37. It had been my prayer for several months when my granny was in her last days, yet here it was again. In light of a completely different set of circumstances, the scripture was speaking to my heart again. This time it was verse 34 that really jumped off the page at me, "Wait for and expect the Lord and keep and head His way,..." (AMP) I had always read the 'wait for' part, but that night the 'expect the Lord' part grabbed me! I changed the way that I prayed that night. I told God that I trusted Him to place Daddy T in the perfect job and that I was expecting Him to move on our behalf.

Fast-forward a week and my husband now has a phenomenal career in sales. On top of that his boss is a Godly Christian man! All it took was a little faith. I have learned to wait on the Lord more this year than ever before. So often I am quick to jump ahead of Him and make my own way when He is 'taking too long' by my books. This morning before work T was looking for a tie pin to wear. I inherited a some of my granny's jewelry so I looked to see if I had something that he could use. I found a small pin with an eagle on it. It had Isaiah 40:31 on it. I immediately pulled out my Bible.
"But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
shall change and renew their strength and power;
 they shall mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun];
they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired." (AMP)

Wow! What a promise! I needed this reminder this morning! This nugget of truth that my God is able! Praise the Lord for answered prayers and for keeping His promises!

I would love to hear how the Lord has blessed you lately!

In Him,

Yummy New Snack Idea

I am always open for new snack ideas for the kiddos.  I hate how all the snack options at the store are full of junk. Lately, I have been researching some new good-for-you, but the children will still love them, kind of snacks. This morning, I found a keeper and thought that I would share it with you!
I found it here!

It's a Greek yogurt banana split! Seriously, how good does that sound?!?! It was amazing!We chose to leave out the pineapples and the nuts, only because I didn't have them in the pantry. The best part, the kids loved them! Healthy, quick, easy, and the kids like it, that sounds like a keeper to me! Enjoy!

Cloth Diaper Fail

You read it right! Our journey in cloth diapering ended. I am incredibly saddened by this. I wanted it to work so badly. However, E broke out in a horrible rash. I tried EVERYTHING! (stripping, extra rinsing, switching detergents, different diapers) Nothing helped. The day that I switched her back to disposable, she started clearing up. Now, 3 days later, she is completely clear. As much as I wanted to go all natural, my baby girl's health and comfort are top priority for this momma! I am deeming this a learning experience! Cloth isn't for everyone. Sadly, I will be buying disposable from now on :( I sure will miss the cute fluff and diaper covers!

How to store veggies **linked from a friend**

A friend of mine recently did some research on how to properly store vegetables only to learn that she had been storing them wrong. When I read her post, I was in shock of how often I was storing vegetables incorrectly as well. I think that this is something that everyone could learn something from!

A little off topic...

Sunday was a very frustrating day for me. I woke-up to my 2 middle children having allergy attacks. I hate the sound of that croupy cough that they get this time of year. Instinctively, I knew that there would be no church for us on that day. I was disappointed to say the least. You see, we have been church hunting for a little over a year. We just didn't feel 'at home.' However, two weeks ago I met an amazing new friend that introduced us to her church family. It was instant! We felt so welcomed and so loved immediately  I have enjoyed the fellowship and the teaching so much.

However, God in His infinite wisdom already knew that we were going to miss Sunday. The previous week, He had led another new friend to mention that the sermons were available online in case you miss a week. SIGH! I was so relieved!

Last night my Daddy T and I cuddled up with our notebooks and watched as Pastor presented God's truth out of 1 Kings. I never realized just how relevant the teaching of no idols was to me before. As Pastor read from the Word and presented truths about idols in our lives, God revealed to me that I had some in my life. I was able to repent and pray with my husband right then! I am so thankful for grace! I am thankful for an amazing Pastor that speaks truth into my life every Sunday. I am thankful for new friendships forming. But most of all, I am thankful for my God!
