A Step of Faith and A Challenge for You!

Recently, I made a very tough decision to trust! I chose a path completely out of my comfort zone. I spent several weeks in prayer over the opportunity both on my own and with my husband. Finally, I had a Gideon moment where I asked God to make the fleece dry. Boy, did He ever! So, I stepped out in faith. I did something I never thought in a million years that I would do: I became an independent distributor with It Works Global!

The most well known product that we have is our Ultimate Body Applicator. Which is better known as the wrap! I have had several people ask the common questions: "What is that crazy wrap thing?" and "Does it really work?"

The wrap has botanical lotions on the wrap that tone, tighten, and firm anywhere from the neck down. It is not water weight! In fact, the more water you drink the better the results!!!

In reguard to the 2nd question, YES! They absolutely work! Here are several of mine and my teammate's results using the wrap!

Like I said before, you can use them anywhere from the neck down:

I am currently looking for product testers for my 90 day challenges! You can chose the wraps or any of our other products available! If you choose to become a product tester you will receive my 40% discount on all products in exchange for an honest review from you!
There are 2 ways that you can contact me:
1. email me at
2. friend request me on Facebook, and direct message me there!

Thank you so much for your support! I look forward to having some of you join me for the challenge!

Shark Week, Homeschool Celebrity and Our Weekly Wrap-Up

It's that time of year again! The one week in the summer where I lose the battle over TV time. Shark Week! I know there are many that are big fans. I am not! I can stand one show a day and then I am DONE! However, I live in a house of animal lovers. So, when this week comes along, this is what my boys look like:

I know that sharks are educational. I just loathe the amount of sharks that we learn about this looooong week every summer. Dinner time is spent retelling all the fun facts about all 9000 species of sharks that they learned about throughout the day.

When I do finally peel them away from the television to play outside...

They play sharks and minnows in the pool! *SIGH*
I guess there are worse things that they could be learning about! Since Popper wants to be a marine biologist when he is older, I do humor him as he recounts his knowledge every night. I even retain some of it for later conversations.

Last weekend, Sister and I got the privilege of running the Thinking Tree booth at our local homeschool convention. We were able to meet and bless so many moms with the books that Sarah sent to us.
As if that were not enough, we got to meet 'The Ooey Gooey Guy' otherwise known as Mr. Andrew Pudewa of Institute of Excellence in Writing. If you remember, we reviewed their poetry memorization here. The children love the poems! Sister couldn't wait to meet him! (I couldn't either)

Of course, she got shy when she actually met him! She had to tell him her poems. He was super nice and patient with her when she stumbled. He coaxed her along gently and she was able to finish! He even recited the poem that we are currently working on. Her face lit up with excitement! She was in awe that he actually knew all the poem!

We are still schooling this summer. I think that it is important to not take too long off especially with my budding readers!

We have added a couple of really amazing things to our days. (future reviews are coming!) I cannot wait to share them with you!

In the middle of the afternoon the temperature gets a bit hot for us. So, we head inside to cool off and play. The boys use this time to play LEGOs and build forts!

Popper's sign says 'DO NOT DISTURB!" He said it was his quiet space for rest time!

That about sums up the week that we have had! As we turn to our calendars to July tomorrow, I realize that the busyness just keeps coming. We have parties and VBS! I love summertime! I love the long days spent with friends and families! I hope that you are enjoying your longer days too!

Veritas Bible- A TOS Review

For the last 6 weeks we have been given the opportunity to review by Veritas Press. We received a One Year Family Membership which provides access to 3 different courses:
*Genesis to Joshua
*Judges to Kings
*the Gospels
There are 2 more courses coming soon: Chronicles to Malachi and Acts to Revelation.
Each course has 128 lessons in it making for a full year of learning! That means that you have access to over 300 lessons for the family. The family membership also allows you to add different profile for each child in your home. This way each one can work at their own pace.

When we began the program there were intro pages that were very easy to follow and showed the kiddos how to move through each level. They explained what was require of them to pass each level and move on to the next.

The one thing that I did not like about this was that you had to go through these pages every time you opened it both on the computer and on our iPad. The kiddos would get very frustrated. I think an app on the iPad or Android market could make this much easier. I found that loading it before calling them to work on their lesson reduced frustration levels.

I started by making Popper, Brother Bear, and Sister their own profiles.

Sister wanted to be the first one to try out the new program. It did not take long to realize that this was waaaay too advanced for her or Brother Bear to work through on their own. There is far too much reading required for preschool and kindergarten kiddos. There were several times that I had to help Popper with words.I think that a button to read the question out loud would be great for younger kids.

I moved onto Popper who preferred to use the iPad to complete his lessons.

I loved that it required him to get out his Bible and search for answers. He really enjoyed the song to help with the timeline memorization. I can say that it might have been easier if I had purchased the timeline cards for him to help supplement his learning.

The animation was very bright and colorful. Overall, I thought the program was well put together.

There were games that helped Popper remember the different facts that he needed to remember for the quizzes. Everything was set up in such a way to keep my 7-year-old attentive.

The videos introduce us to a brother and sister, Abigail and Asher. They are the ones that teach and lead the kiddos through the lessons. Even Brother Bear and Sister loved to watch this part of the lesson. I, however, had a really hard time with this part. They try to make it comical by having the siblings make fun of one another. They banter back and forth with unkind words that I simply do not allow in our house!
I used this as a training time for my kiddos to remind them that Jesus called us to be kind and love one another. I was really disappointed by this! After a while Popper began to notice the banter and was saddened by the way they were treating each other as well.

My other main concern was that in order to pass each level and move on your child must score a 70% or better. This doesn't sound awful when worded that way. However, when we realized that meant he could not miss ANY problems or he would get a 68%, Popper became frustrated with the program and cried over our Bible time. Since we are all about funschooling and Bible time is the last place that I want them to be frustrated or overwhelmed, I took over the lessons from there. I walked my children through each lesson to ensure proper conversations about how to treat each other and to make sure that we all understood and could answer all the questions correctly on the quiz to move on to the next level.

I am very sad that this was not a good fit for our family. I was impressed by the animation and the accuracy of the lessons. The kiddos loved the characters, games, and songs. I just think that my kiddos are a bit young for this program.
